The mission of Giberson Elementary School is to educate our children to become responsible, lifelong, literate learners and productive, caring citizens.
Our Purpose
Giberson Elementary is a preschool through fifth grade elementary school nestled in a quiet community of Colorado Springs. Giberson utilizes research-based teaching methods to provide students with the best opportunities to achieve and excel. With a renewed focus on constructive feedback, curriculum alignment and raising instructional quality, there have been gains in student achievement shown by reading and writing assessments. The small class size allows for interaction between staff and students, providing more individualized instruction, tutoring, mentoring and learning opportunities.
Our Educators
The staff is a committed group of educators who continually study the best instructional practices and go above and beyond to meet students' needs. Classroom teachers and administrators meet on a monthly basis to align curriculum, review student achievement data, make improvements and give feedback on the progress of various educational programs. Giberson values high quality teachers and offers many opportunities for professional development to all staff.
Giberson's highly qualified educational staff uses Write Tools for effective writing, McMillan/McGraw-Hill "Treasures" Curriculum for reading and Math Central Curriculum for math.

Reading Paw Prints are a SUCCESS!
Since the beginning of November 2009, Giberson students have been asked to read at home in order to complete reading logs. They earn Paw Prints for each week that they complete their log. For an entire month's worth of Reading Logs, the students earn a free book! Our students have been reading at home at an amazing rate. Last month, we had 82 Giberson Wildcats earn a free book! That means that 82 students read every night for an entire month!!! Way to go students! Keep up the great work and let's make March our best month yet!
