The mission of Giberson Elementary School is to educate our children to become responsible, lifelong, literate learners and productive, caring citizens.
Have you seen the Federal Impact Aid Form?
The State of Colorado has a number of federal properties that are exempt from certain local and state taxes. D2 loses tax revenue because these properties are not taxed. We are allowed to recoup some of these tax dollars when we have children whose parents serve in the military or are employed on federal property. Returning this form to your child's school helps support all students and the quality instruction they receive. Our goal for the Impact aid form is 100%, so please fill out the information and return it back to your school as soon as possible, regardless of where you work or live (on government property or not).

School Boundary Information:
We are updating information about our boundary changes, which began several years ago. During the 2011-2012 school year, Harrison School Board in collaboration with district administrators approved a four year plan to address community growth and student enrollment in order to maintain desired class sizes. New students were placed at their schools per the new boundary areas. Returning students had the choice to return to their current school based on their 2011-2012 school year enrollment or enroll in their new boundary area school. To help make this a smooth transition, new bus routes were added and others reduced. Students within the walking boundaries were encouraged to walk from their local neighborhoods.
With the 2014-2015 school year registration just around the corner, we want to encourage you to enroll your child in his/her boundary area school. Students impacted by the boundary change who wish to continue in their current school will be able to remain at their school until they relocate or transition to middle school. Newly enrolled kindergarten siblings will be required to go to their boundary area school. If you choice in the younger sibling, you will have to provide transportation for that child as it will not be provided by the district.
All bus riders will be given a bus schedule during registration, or you may access the schedule on the District website at www.hsd2.org, (departments/transportation/bus schedule). You may also view the District street directory online for further clarification on your child's boundary area school.
· Giberson: Students will continue to walk from their neighborhoods.
As a parent or guardian you have many important decisions to make in regards to the boundary changes set forth. Should you have questions or concerns regarding the boundary changes, please contact the Student Services office at (719) 579-2550. For questions or concerns regarding bussing, please contact the Transportation Department at (719) 579-4900. We look forward to seeing your child become college and career ready in Harrison School District Two.
